When you work in the IT-industry as a specialist, you end up with a few favorite tools that you use to troubleshoot problems or test systems with. Some tools are complex and require installation, whereas other tools come with your favorite operating system.
"The tools we swear by" is a new feature of this site, where I intend to describe some of the tools that are indispensable for any technician. My focus will be things that most people didn't know you could do with them and the security implications.
This column will be somewhat Windows-centric, but you'll probably find it useful no matter what operating system you use or prefer. The next "Tools we swear by" will cover a tool that everyone knows but most never see the full potential of. Stay tuned!
